This section explains how to create and contribute to a team in the order of Steps 1 to 5.
Step 1: Participate in the competition
When you join a competition by clicking the “参加 (Join)” button on the competition page, the Teams tab will appear.

* SMS authentication may be required to participate in the competition. Please follow the on-screen instructions for SMS authentication.
Step 2: Invite team members
Set a team name and click the “招待する (Invite)” button to proceed to team invitation.
Enter a unique team name and the user name of the person you wish to team up with and invite them to join your team.
* The initial value of the team name is the team leader's user name.
* Only registered users can be invited as team members.
* Please note that once you submit you will be considered an “individual participant” and will not be able to invite team members.

* Team creation period and maximum number of invitees vary from competition to competition. Please see each competition page for details.
* Competitions for which the team function is not available are for individual participation only.
Step 3: Join a team via email invitation
Once the invited user accepts the team invitation by clicking on the link in the invitation e-mail, participation in the team is confirmed.

* If you do not see the "チーム (team)" tab, please click the "参加 (Join)" button to join the competition and then click the link in the invitation email again.
Step 4: Sharing ideas with your team members
Any member of the team can submit and select results as a team.
All team members can also view the posted notes. Share information with your team and aim for victory.
Please note that the number of submissions is limited per team.

Step 5: Let's take a look at the leaderboard
You can see how you rank as a team on the leaderboard.
Click on the user icon to check the composition of other teams.
* Individual and team participants will appear on the same leaderboard.
Team Function Specifications
Team
- Teams can be created for each competition.
- A team may consist of one team leader and one or more team members, or it may consist of only one user (with confirmed individual participation).
Team creation deadline
- Teams have a composition deadline (the deadline by which team names can be set and teams can be invited).
- Once the team composition deadline has passed, team name changes and team invitations will no longer be available.
- Team composition deadlines vary from competition to competition. For details, please refer to the "チーム組成の期限(team formation deadlines)" under the "チーム (team)" tab on each competition page.
Team leaders
- A team leader is a user who has made a team invitation on the competition page.
- Team leaders can set the team name and invite members to join the team.
- Team leaders may not withdraw from the competition during the competition.
- The following communications will be made to the team leader
- Communications from SIGNATE after the competition, in connection with prize winners, etc.
- Transfer of prize money after the competition.
Team members
- The number of users that can be invited to a team varies from competition to competition. For details, please refer to the "最大招待可能人数 (Maximum Number of Invitees)" in the "チーム (team)" tab of each competition page.
- The requirements for an account to be eligible for team invitations are as follows
- Must be a registered user.
- Must not be a member of any other team.
- Must not be an individual participating competition.
- Participation in the team is confirmed when team members click the "承諾する (accept)" button on the "チーム (team)" tab.
- If a team member receives invitations from multiple teams, accepting one of the team invitations will invalidate the invitations from the other teams.
Individual Participation
Individual participation refers to users who have confirmed their participation in the competition as individuals.
- The following conditions apply to confirmed individual participation.
Submitting an entry at least once without forming a team for the competition.
- Passing the team formation period without forming a team.
Team Name
- The team name can be up to 100 characters long.
- Only the team leader can change the team name within the team composition deadline.
Inviting, changing, or withdrawing team members
- Only the team leader can invite team members.
- Team members can be invited when the deadline for team composition is within and the number of available invitees is available.
- You cannot invite a user who is a member of another team to join your team.
- Users with confirmed individual participation are considered a team of one and cannot be invited to join a team.
- After accepting a team invitation, you may not return to individual participation.
- Team invitations cannot be accepted after individual participation has been confirmed.
- Team members cannot be changed (i.e., members cannot be removed by the team leader or withdrawn by the members themselves).
Submission and submission file selection
- If you submit files while on a team, the submission files will be treated as a team post.
- Notification that a submission has been evaluated will be sent by e-mail only to the user who submitted the file.
- The number of submissions is limited per team. For example, if the daily submission limit is five, once team members reach a total of five submissions, they will not be able to submit again until the date changes (JST).
- You can also select submissions from former team members.
Submission Notes
- All team members can share (view and edit) submitted notes.
- Only team members will be able to see submitted notes.
Points and medals awarding
- Ranking points are awarded to each team member and then divided by the number of members.
- Medals will be awarded to all team members.

Deactivating a team leader's account
- A team leader's account cannot be deleted while the competition is in progress.
Deactivating a team member's account
- A team member's account can be deleted while the competition is in progress.
- A team is not disbanded when one of its members leaves.
- You can also select files submitted by former team members.
- If all of the team members except the team leader leave, the team will be considered a team consisting of only the team leader.
